cool cool baby

So this is pretty much the hippest kid in town...

I mean...what is she going to do when her cool cool auntie moves to Africa and no one is around to buy her apple sun-glasses, tutus, and high-tops?

tea time

Tea, tiny cakes, cucumber and radish sandwiches, floral dresses, all are images of a southern tradition.  I am glad their are girls like Jessica Cassin to keep that tradition alive.

all the way down in nashville

It was a pleasure spending one of the first nice, normal spring weeks in Southern Kentucky and Tennessee.  Nashville holds a solid spot in my heart from years of outings to the "big city" and from my time working at The Frist.  The town is beautiful, expensive but beautiful.  I have some friends who have made it their permanent residence.  They were able to take me around to some interesting spots to spend some quality time.

is it time for cake?

I remember getting so excited about my birthday cakes as a child.  Today, I get excited about cakes but is not for the same reason.  Then, it did not matter what the cake would taste like but only that it took the form of something other than a square or rectangle - like my favorite childhood cake: the Barbie Dress cake.  My mom took one of my Barbies, used a bunt cake and beautiful frosting skills to create an edible ballgown.  I was mesmerized.
